"Droning" your House!

Whatever you may ponder about drones, they have increasingly been coming into use in Real Estate. Our house photographer is doing a great job with capturing overviews, but check out this recent sound bite from Inman News.

New FAA regulations loosen drone rules for real estate agents

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced today that it will no longer require a Section 333 waiver — making it much easier for real estate agents to legally fly drones.

“We’ve worked hard to strike a responsible balance that protects the safety and privacy of individuals, while also ensuring Realtors can put drones to good use,” said Tom Salomone, broker-owner of Real Estate II Inc. in Coral Springs, Florida., and president of NAR, in a press release.

STATS THAT AMAZE AND PERHAPS AMUSE!

My goodness, I was just three years into my real estate career years ago when Washington state topped the nation's list of home-price increases  during a three-month period in 1989-1990.   And we've done it again:three months in a row topping Oregon  and Colorado.  This June release is fascinating to read. Enjoy!
It's HOT now, where San Juan Island median is One Million-and even Grays Harbor where a few years ago you could buy a house for $88,000 is now UP to $141,000!

REAL ESTATE "FUN STUFF" AND HARD-CORE STATS!

            WHO'S MOVING?
In 30 years of Real Estate, I am constantly enjoying our weekly Realtors tour,  and many agents always ask "Why are they Selling? And of course buyers ask the same.  So here are a few tongue-in-cheek answers:
“They heard you were wanting to buy their home.”
OR: "My sellers want to know why you are buying."
But one agent's idea takes the cake: “If they ask me why they are moving I say because they’re selling. If they ask me why they are selling I say because they are moving, and then we chuckle about it.”

                                               TRENDS
**Many renters still have to look for parking when they rent. Some pricey apartments are getting a perk from their landlords:VALET SERVICE.

**Celebrities hire designers when they sell, You will save money by asking your agent to help or google for many ideas to make your home shine!

                           NEWS ITEMS

** The National Association of Realtors  is joining forces with Boys and Girls Club of America.
**Real Estate Economists say “ the market is still on track to be the Highest Pace and Best Year  since 2006”.
**Buyers ages 25-34. This demographic has the potential to claim a third of home sales in 2016 and represent 2 million home purchases.

THE SUMMER THAT KEEPS ON SIZZLING

                     FOR BUYERS

Buyers, chances are if you wait, you lose.  That's the buzz word for today's market. Yes, even in Skagit County! Houses priced right sell quickly.  Low inventory throughout Puget Sound is a given, so customers in many cases are vying with another buyer hovering near by. Buyers? Get a complete loan approval(all finished except for choosing the house!) BEFORE you buy.  So much easier to get your offer accepted. day one, so you don't miss out.

                   FOR SELLERS

Sellers, don't be greedy.  If you are, you might lose thousands.  No one argues but what interest rates will rise, and they are still so incredibly low-so act now.  Sellers, don't put off till next year unless you have to. Without a crystal ball one doesn't know if there will be too much inventory next year.Prediction is that rates will go up. Buyers? Get a complete loan approval(all finished except for choosing the house!) BEFORE you buy.  So much easier to get your offer accepted. day one, so you don't miss out.

Graph is small, but just look at June 2015 (99 homes for sale)compared to June 2015(79 homes for sale) Listings are Needed!

Summer Buying and Selling

How High Will Home Prices go?

Are we in another Real Estate Bubble?

(**see funny back story below)

Early May Headlines in the Northwest Multiple Listing  Spring 2014

Housing activity ranges from "red hot" to "slowly healing"

***Looking back into an ad I did for Clamdigger
 in those "hot" early 2000's):

The Real Estate Press : "Full of  Bubbles"
Business Week: "Bubble Schmubble"
Miami Herald : "Most Bubbly"
King 5 TV :  "Will it Burst"
Lenders : "Interest Only"
Bloggers : "Correction Coming?"

Of Interest  in the news:
Recent article titled "Are Real Estate Brokers Obsolete?"

My take on this is that years ago we were those mean "gatekeepers"of information, getting you into the office so you could have our secret list of homes.  Tech changed all that dramatically and you can search millions of homes on your own.  But the real estate industry is still about real property, human beings who buy and sell homes and it is also about time.  A good agent saves you money in the long run. We give you that time so you don't need to use yours. And yes, agents are compensated, as thousands of other profession in various industries. Whether it is getting your home market ready on the first day of listing, or exposure worldwide, a buyer's advantage program to get the right home at the right price, I am here to help!

Let this be my reminder to invite you or your friends to call me for questions and services!
